FARADAY BATTERY CHALLENGE
The Faraday Battery Challenge supports world-class scientific technology development and manufacturing scale-up capability for batteries in the UK.
Backed by £610 million since 2017, it is made up of UKBIC, The Faraday Institution and UK Research and Innovation, with an overall objective of building a high-tech, high-value, high-skill battery industry in the UK.
Since its launch, the UK Government funded Challenge has built and grown a thriving community of high-technology businesses, improved lithium-ion battery performance and offered new solutions that have the potential for globally significant breakthroughs in performance, weight and cost.
The Challenge is delivered through through Innovate UK on behalf of UK Research and Innovation, with the aim of building a high-tech, high-value, high-skill battery industry in the UK.
